Carneval
Now I am preparing for carneval - which is something you love or you hate - I think my hostfamily loved it when they arrived here in switzerland. ...
Well this is (in my eyes)a funny story. When my hostfamily in 2000 came to visit me here in switzerland I thought about what I could show them in the time they are here. ... I guess I was late because they saw the Carneval start in Basel (which pretty much is the center of carneval in switzerland) just when they arrived - so I couldn' t show them anything crazier than this while they were here - but I guess they must have thought that swiss are crazy!!! However, now I am preparing here my things - makeing a mask out of ... well I have no idea how you call it but I can describe : when you brake your leg you get a .... - yep, this is what I make my mask out of. I will be going there with a friend of mine and I can't wait to do so - it will be so much fun.
I'll get pictures and put them on.

Wonderful or incredible or incredibly wonderful
Isn't it wonderful that the world has become so small - internet - air planes - and so many other things have made a village out of our big world. Wonderful or incredible?
I enjoy it - even if I am not very happy meeting people from my village on vacation in Gran Canaria/Spain... or my teachers in Sicily - which both happend to me... and I didn't enjoy it
However it is wonderful to write to my loved ones and the answer returns within a few minutes or hours... (ok. in a few hours you drive across switzerland and I can see the person - but what about my american family for example)
I remember that an very very old man I met when I was in America asked me how I got there from so far away - I remember my grandma telling me "take care this airplanes are so loud" - I remember explaining my grandma how a fax works - she never understood but at least she tried - I getting for the first time in a airplane and not being afraid of anything at all - it wasn't loud and it wasn't even that special - this is incredible - I remember using for the first time a fax and this wasn't spectaculer at all... Sad but true.
Every time I get on a air plane today I do find it special - wonderful - and I thank who ever for giving me the possibility to travel and see people and cultures which were impossible to reach not that many years ago. And who ever made it possible to use internet - thank you!
And it is incredible to forget this - because we just have too much.
One day people will travel to the moon just for a few days and it will not be spectaculer - but it is and we shouldn't forget how incredible wonderful possibilities we have.
