Now I am preparing for carneval - which is something you love or you hate - I think my hostfamily loved it when they arrived here in switzerland. ...
Well this is (in my eyes)a funny story. When my hostfamily in 2000 came to visit me here in switzerland I thought about what I could show them in the time they are here. ... I guess I was late because they saw the Carneval start in Basel (which pretty much is the center of carneval in switzerland) just when they arrived - so I couldn' t show them anything crazier than this while they were here - but I guess they must have thought that swiss are crazy!!! However, now I am preparing here my things - makeing a mask out of ... well I have no idea how you call it but I can describe : when you brake your leg you get a .... - yep, this is what I make my mask out of. I will be going there with a friend of mine and I can't wait to do so - it will be so much fun.

yep, we did enjoy canivale!!! stayed up all night to see the great masks and hear the fife and drum music at 4:00am. Weren't you there in Basil earlier in the day and we missed you? I still have the pin from Canivale in Basil, 2000
